Best Apps for Remote Learning

When taking online courses, there are meetings to keep up with, lectures, group projects as well as short and long-term tasks to remember. Luckily, there are apps for remote learning that can make scheduling so much easier on you! Browse through some of the following options to become familiar with the different options available for use. You might find some of them will be useful for your upcoming semester.  And, if you have a favorite app that isn’t listed below, we’d love to hear about it!

Zoom: A free app that is extremely easy to use and compatible with all phones, iPad, laptop or desktops. This is a great tool for easily communicating with classmates, instructors or mentors.

Google: Google makes it easy to keep track of assignments, share information with classmates and more. The Google suite includes Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Photos and more. If you don’t already have a Gmail address – sign up today – it’s free!

Canva: This free app can help you learn how to build your own website, create business cards, invitations, presentations or even can be used with social media. It’s an amazing tool that can have many applications in remote learning!

EasyBib: This is a free app through Chegg. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPad and Android. This app is amazing with the ever-so critical citation generations. It works by either scanning the book’s barcode or you can utilize the search function to enter websites, newspaper articles, books, or any sources you want to use. It also uses different formats such as MLA and APA.

Evernote: If you are looking for an easy-to-use organizer, you’ve hit the goldmine with Evernote! It can be used to jot notes, reminders, or anything “to-do”; compiling them into easy to find lists with a search bar. You can sync the app to all devices and add images, texts, links, audio recordings and more. This app is perfect for taking multiple courses and simply managing all that you juggle in your daily life.

Grammarly: For your writing assignments explore Grammarly. It transforms your writing from standard to attention grabbing. It has over 40,000 five-star reviews, and best of all, it’s free!
