At Ed4Career we hope to set a standard for sustainable education practices. In addition to maintaining environmentally responsible business practices, we promote balanced and healthy living for our staff.

We partner with others who care

By partnering with companies dedicated to maintaining carbon neutral operations, we help reduce our impact on the environment as well as preserve natural resources.

For example, our server company Pair.com has measured, reduced, and offset its company-wide carbon footprint. As of August 1, 2007, all of Pair Networks' operations, including datacenters, support operations, administrative facilities, and employee commutes & business travel are 100% Carbon Neutral.

Dr. Tricia Seymour, Cofounder and COO of Ed4Career, was recently published in Career College Central’s July 2013 Magazine.  In the article entitled “Can Online Learning be as Effective as Classroom Learning?” Dr. Seymour highlights the results of a recent poll conducted by Ed4Career among educators and professionals and explores the ongoing debate taking place in academic circles.

June-2013, Davie, FL – I had the pleasure of joining Dr. Tricia Seymour on an eLearning adventure to South Florida recently. We made the four hour drive to attend Articulate’s “How to Become a Rapid E-Learning Pro” two-day workshop presented by Tom Kuhlmann. I’ve watched Tom’s How-To screencasts for years and have learned so much from him. He is a big inspiration to me and I feel he really raises the bar for instructional design.

In addition to sharing some tips and tricks in PowerPoint and Storyline, Tom emphasized the importance of intentional instructional design. Basically, everything that is displayed on a slide should be there for a reason and if it is not accomplishing something, take it off because it is a distraction. He taught that the three basic elements of eLearning are:

Why We Should Keep Learning

Smiling Girl

Each day learn something new, and just as important, relearn something old.  ~Robert Brault

For me personally, there is nothing quite like the thrill of learning something new.  Whether it’s reading an article, taking a course, or attending a webinar; as soon as I finish, I am always thinking of whom I might share my new knowledge with, or how I might apply the information I’ve learned to my daily life.  I also find that when I stretch myself to learn a new technique, I have an amazing sense of accomplishment once I’ve mastered the new task.   However, I also understand that things are constantly changing and that one is never completely finished.  You may master something today, and very well need to brush up your skills tomorrow.

A Message from the Founders of Ed4Career

By Tricia Seymour | March 27th 2013

Group of people around a computer

Welcome to Ed4Career!

We believe in the power of education and specifically online education to challenge us and help us grow. We both have PhDs in counseling psychology and understand the need for lifelong learning. We see the best in people and hope that they will always want to grow in both wisdom and knowledge.

We started our journeys in private practice as psychotherapists but quickly realized the need for ongoing education to improve one’s chances for a happy, healthy, and successful future. We both entered the education industry as a way to support our desire to assist people in their growth and to attain their goals in life. Since the early 1980s, before online education was available, we taught in secondary education, at the college level, and in corporations leading people to a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.
