Doris Jones

Doris began her career in Healthcare as an LVN through All Saints Episcopal Hospital School of Licensed Vocational Nursing in Fort Worth, Texas.  After which, she completed Continuing Education courses including Malpractice Risks for Healthcare Professionals, Oregon Law for Medical Personnel, Medical terminology, CPT/ICD-9 Coding and Radiology Terminology.  Later, Doris decided that while her children were young, she would start her own business in Medical Transcription and set her office up in the basement of their home for two years until her husband was transferred to another state.  Once relocated, Doris desired to work in the hospital clinic-setting developing a closer relationship dealing with terminal patients.   She decided to work in a Family Practice Clinic and an Orthopedic Oncologist’s clinic both of which were located in a hospital-setting.  During five years in this capacity, she received training on a new electronic billing system and supervised and trained other employees on the billing and scheduling software.  Doris assisted physicians with back office procedures, verified insurance coverage and acquired insurance approval for surgeries.  She has translated patient charges into ICD-9/CPT coding for billing, handled the bookkeeping and ordered medical supplies.  Currently, Doris focuses on mentoring others who are seeking a career in the healthcare industry.
